A few questions: 'quirks' on an 09MY

My wife and I now have 'his and hers' D3's: hers is an 06 manual SE with 113k, newer to us is mine, an 09 auto HSE with 46k (now modded with Autologic ECU upgrade, D4 rear lights and rubber mats throughout Laughing ).

Other than the usual bits, hers has been pretty good over the 18 months we have had it. I've noticed a few things on the new one that strike me as odd, would appreciate some comments:

- engine noise: it seems much more 'dieselly' on the new one (was just as noisy before the remap). Euro III vs IV?
- on Auxilliary input for the sound system, it sounds like I have a hamster behind the dash. Switch to CD...silence! (obviously, with no CD in the changer!)
- the drivers seat seems to rock almost imperceptably under acceleration and braking. I've done a search and found a TSB that covers it (http://www.disco3.co.uk/gallery/albums/userpics/12824/seatrock.pdf) but how do you get to the motors with the LOGIC7 amp under the seat too?

Thanks,

Sniff

1. The Euro4 engine is noisier than the euro 3. I noticed this when I swapped my 54 plate D3 for my current 58 plate. It does sound more like diesel, but it does go a bit better.
2. I too get a back ground noise if on aux with no input.
3. Seat rock is a known issue, I think you have to remove the seat base to get to the frame and motors. I have had this done 3 times on mine now, but dealer has done it under warranty, so I cant be of any more help.

09 noise on aux, no seat probs, engine quiet most of the time. A slight rattle from injectors at cruising speed.

Thanks for your replies guys, sounds like the usual vagaries of Discovery ownership! Found a new quirk last night...sticky headlight shutter! Another job for the weekend......

I might see if my local dealer will handle any of these through the warranty. Unfortunately I bought it just after its third b'day. And the chances are??
