Damp front carpets

I've had my car two weeks now and everything has been going well till it rained last night and now the carpets are wet the passenger more so then the drivers, after doing a bit of searching I think it's down to the drain holes being blocked on the sunroof (05 hse) would they just be right in the corners, or is there a diagram of where all the rain drains are on the car? Some where on the internet, I checked the manual but there's nowt in there.

Thanks mate, I've done so more searching and it could be the a pillars or the cowl in the middle as mine is coming away from the windscreen above the air intake.

Are the plugs for the a pillar holes easy to get hold off same with the replacement cowl.

There is a bit of a write up on the virtues and methods to check the cowl and replace it if necessary on this thread. http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/topic76762.html On page 2, the virtues of a spares kit is discussed.

Welcome to the club Laughing

Persevere and all will come right - one tip though, lift the carpets as best you can and remove the water that WILL be underneath them. The floor pan has some serious profiles that hold a lot of water and if you don't get this out, you will still have wet carpets.

I have still not fixed the problem other then drop the head liner down and clean the drain holes, i still need to unblock the bottom of the pipes but it's not stopped raining for two days and the carpets are very wet now, I've got some all weatherproof tape but I was not sure if it would lift the paint if I sealed the sunroof when removing it. I also need to replace the cowl as that's come away from the windscreen but I have stuck that back down with tape for the time being.

Is it a difficult job to replace door seals on the body cell as mine are worn badly and where's the best place to get them I guess a dealer will not be cheap.

The door seals are a pretty easy DIY. The only trick is getting it all lined up. It presses on, and holds well. Throw a tarp over it to keep the rain off perhaps.

the water collects under the carpet were the electric wires run down the side of the seats/sills. whilst you obviously need to stop the leak, you also need to get rid of the water that collect in the floor pan.

pull up the plastic trim that runs along the sill on the inside of the car and remove the kick plate thing (sorry dont know the proper name). it just pulls forwards.

you can then lift the carpet and youll see where the water collects. the trough it collects in runs back towards the back of the car.

I used a bit of platic tube and syphoned the water out. it needs doing asap as I syphoned out just over 500ml of water.
