Lower outer driver's door trim removal help

Opened the door the other day, and on closing I managed to scrape it on the -high- curb I was parked next to - loud crack and the rear end of the lower trim came off Big Cry

I can see a clip on the metal part of the door which I hope to remove to refit to the plastic part but cannot figure out how to properly remove that plastic part to fix/replace.

I have also looked at the workshop manual but there seems to be no section describing this part of the process... plus the plastic seems to be held at its upper end to the body somehow as well? Confused

Could anyone please help me decipher how the Censored thing comes off so I can properly remove and mend? or point me by section to to workshop manual if I'm being thicker than usual and simply can't see what's in front of me? (I'll try to get a pic or two later to help with my description!)

(worse part is that for once I cannot blame SWMBO for this Rolling Eyes )

Many thanks Thumbs Up

if i have undrstood correctly the trim you are talking about, then the whole lot just pulls off.

it it the replacement of the yellow/white clips you are wanting to do ?

It's this plastic strip:

That's the clip I can see (black):

...but others also see to have snapped:

Tried pulling out with moderate force with no success and in fact the top part seems to be (somehow!) be held in place very tightly at the to end...

I could just take a deep breath and pull the whole thing till it pops off, but suspect there may be more to it being attached to the door...???

Cheers Thumbs Up

Nope, just grab on bottom corner and give a pull, some feel tight as anything, but is only held on by about 12 clips

I Duncs long time no speak. Any ideas how to easily remove the yellow trim clips which remain in the body of the door when you remove the lower plastic molding?

Much appreciate
Andy
