I use a decent bike lock through the frame of my bike rack and through the towing eye. Would slow down anyone after the tow bar or the bike rack.
When not using the tow bar it goes back in its holder in the boot

Good suggestion Sarum. I should do the same until I figure out how to remove my hitch so that I can make sure to purchase the correct lock from the dealer.
