United Kingdom 2012 Discovery 4 3.0 SDV6 HSE Auto Santorini BlackDiscovery 4
New D4 HSE

Hi all,

Ordered, due end May...

Santorini Black
Premium Leather ebony
Full size spare wheel
Park heating + RC
Privacy glass
RSE
Heating steering wheel
Vision Assist Pack

Will add tow bar, dog guard etc. at dealer..

Big kerfuffle over colour... don't like silver, grey too silvery blah blah.. still not sure to be honest..

Hybrid TV - understand the economics of adding now but still not convinced it's required...

Very mixed first impression of LR dealers, although limited interaction with LR so far has been pretty good..

Been glued to the forum since first ordering....

Graham

Congratulations!

You will love it.... if you can wait until the end of May!

If you are looking at the detachable tow bar - if you get it factory fitted, you will get stowage built in to the car. Wink Unless they recently changed it, you don't get the stowage with dealer fit and will end up with the detachable hook without a home.

Hybrid tv is perhaps a bit gimmicky, but rather nice if you end up waiting around for SWMBO a lot. Rolling Eyes

I had the Hybrid TV fitted - well worth the extra and helps pass the time when waiting outside the shops etc.

I also found today that I can play movies saved to a usb stick, quite nicely! Although I did get few odd looks from passers by in Sainsburys car park with the action movie soundtrack Embarassed

Never tried a USB stick but is it audio only or do you get video as well ?

audio & video Thumbs Up

but be warned, you do look a bit of a tool sat in a car park watching an action film with the volume up.

I also found out that I can stream music from my phone to the car via bluetooth.

Must give it a try but perhaps your 2012 model has a different set up as I thought it was only audio on my 2010. Mr. Green

Job for tomorrow I think

could be different for MY2012 I guess.

accessing the hidden menus is certainly different, as I can't figure out how to put the tv in to 'test' mode so that... er... my passengers... can watch tv/movies when moving. Whistle

Re the hybrid TV, don't bother in my opinion, buy a new iPad instead, you will get live TV on that as well as access to thousands of movies through services such as Netflix, you will also get the best screen ever made, bigger and all the benefits an iPad gives you such as surfing the internet, and you can use it when not in the car, a no brainer really Thumbs Up

I thought Hybrid TV was a gimmick, but spec'd it on my MY2010 D4 as I reckoned it might become standard & would help resale Shocked - didn't think I would use it much, but I've found that it's very useful to listen to News 24 (obviously no video when on move, just the sound). Didn't realise that video could be streamed to screen now with the later 2012 models Very Happy

If you do not spec Hybrid TV can a usb still be played on the sat nav screen when stationary on a 2012 model ?
