Would I be correct in assuming that these would also be a direct fit for a D3 with both TDV6 and the bigger V8 discs (but not Brembos) ?

Yes they have been deisgned to fit the larger brakes.
I have the 3.0Lt D4 and just fitted a set recently. Still not sure how to post photos on this site, but I'll try a link to the Oz site.

Cheers, Craig.

Off Topic, but what did you use as a 'filler' below the headlamps when you fitted the ARB???

They fit Brembos too(RRS TDV8), just have to turn around the small weight on the calipers.

Hi Spooky,
The bar is made by Opposite Lock, very similar to ARB.
The fillers are a hard rubber and came as part of the bar.
