Blowout !

Interesting view on what to do if you have a blowout http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=80a_1332015846&p=1

Apparently works on any 4 wheeled + vehicle.

Views and opinions ? Smile

Interesting idea, obviously works when driving a heavy 'rig' - certainly agree with the DON'T brake thought.

Any volunteers want to drive along the motorway at 70 towing a caravan whilst I shoot out their front tyre Whistle
Never get mad - get even !!

06 D3 now gone to family member and still going strong at 265k

04 D2 TD5 - (clocked 189k from new)
52 X-Trail 2.2 SVE

+1 for not applying the brakes - same goes for trailer snaking. Brakes are a big no no!

Holding the wheel straight, tucking you elbows into your ribs then applying a bit of power in a snaking condition is a good way of 'pulling' the outfit straight to regain control, so long as you have enough power and road! So, I can see that applying power to a blowout could do the same.

The only issue is, if you can't regain control quickly, you are now moving faster. And that will be bad.

The only problem with our modern cars is that when we get which air loss the circumference of the wheel gets less so the wheel turns faster and then the traction control thinks its loosing traction and applies the traction control!!
