Discovery 4 insurance query....Help! |
|
Hi all, we are due to pick up our new D4 on friday, SWMBO has just called direct line to change the insurance over and they state that a Tracker device must be fitted! is this the norm? anyone else experienced this situation?
Who do you insure your D4 with?
Kind regards Andrew.

I was with LV last year when I got the D4 and they insisted on having one fitted, I have just changed to Churchill (oh yes) and they said they couldn't insure me unless I had a tracker fitted. I think more and more companies are insisting on them on cars worth more than £50k Cheers Ian

I've been with Privelege for more years than I can remember ,I've recently had a tracker fitted to the "landmark" and rang them to see if it would reduce my premium but was told no Www.devonchilliman.co.uk

Just changed from NFU as they've gone bonkers with their rates. LV wanted a tracker, Privilege did not, premiums were virtually the same, so guess who got the business.
Oh and beware, LR no longer support/fit "Tracker" the brand, apparently there were some issues with power consumption, they now use Trackstar or something like that - got that info direct from out friendly parts manager at Yeovil LR

Tracker required for me - 2012 HSE.
The £50,000 threshold makes a difference to quite a few insurers. (Although fitting the tracker doesn't seem to reduce premiums like it used to!)

got 70k threshold from privilege and no tracker, 12k business miles + protected ncb for £350.
just make sure they understand that you have a sdv6 and not the tdv6 their database defaults to.
and declare all your factory fitted options and any aftermarket mods.

Jaguar insurance don't need tracker. I even got a refund when I swapped from XF to D4 despite the value of the D4 being considerably higher than the price of the XF.
I also never resolved the difficulties some of us had with the MY11 that carries the SDV6 badge and the TDV6 VO5 document and insurance register. 2010 MX-5 2.0 Sport Tech PRHT
