Just taken my winter set of 18"AT's off, and put my 20's back on. Thought I'd gone deaf, where has all the road noise gone. I knew AT's were noisy, but it isn't until you take them off, you realise just how much. Also, sods law, wake up to it snowing this morning. Al Volvo XC90 B5 Plus Dark
Gone - MY18 D5 HSE - Corris on 22's with Black Pack
Now gone - MY16 D4 SE Tech, Loire Blue, Almond Leather, Privacy, plus some other goodies.
Old - MY12 D4 SDV6 XS Auto - Ipanema Sand with Almond Leather - Plus other niceties, and D4.com sticker
Older - D3 TDV6 XS Auto - Lugano Teal with Almond Leather, 20" Stormers, Shiny Tailpipes, DVD/TV - and obligatory D3 sticker
Ancient - D3 TDV6 S - Tonga with Ebony, 20" Stormers, satnav & DVD

As I was telling my ILs, it's very bad juju to take your winters off this early. It will anger the snow gods.  They saw the forecast and have delayed til April. The gods have been appeased.

April 27 1977, I was stuck in snow on the A6 going over The Pennines in Derbyshire on my way to Mancherster airport, drifts 6 foot deep, took 6 hours to get there after being rescued by a snowplough, following day I was laid on the beach in Spain sunbathing 8)
Leave you winter tyres on a little longer is my advise. It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

Al, are your Grabbers the AT2's or AT's? I know the older AT2 was noisy, but I thought the AT wasn't too bad.
Having fitted "winter" tyres to our Saab in Oct. (far too early with hindsight) I just know that despite the temperature now regularly being in double figures, if I swap them over this month as planned it's bound to snow again.
The combination of the snow gods and sods law is a powerful one!

AT2's - yes, the latest AT's are supposed to be much improved, both niose and roadholding.

didnt really change for me - dont forget I run 265/50x20's most of the year, so fractionally taller tyre than standard.
