Just wanted to get a general opinion on AT tyre choices.
I am looking at fitting either Pirelli Scorpion ATR tyres or General Grabber AT tyres to my disco 4.
It has 19" tyres and there doesn't seem to be any other choices in all terrain.
What tyres do people recommend? Disco 4 SE

Thanks Guys.
Thanks LT for the link.
I did know you can change to 18" rims but i don't want to spend 5 x $400 for rims then 5 x $350 for tyres = $3750
I know there is more choice with 17" but if the Scorpion or Grabber are suffice i think i would rather spend 5 x $375 =$1875
The profile of the 19" may be lower but it isnt by a whole lot. Plus I dont spend all my time offroad in gnarly conditions. I will just have to try my hardest always take it easy and take the best lines on tracks offroad to not stuff the sidewall/rim. Disco 4 SE

I'm not sure if they are out in 19" yet. Apparently due to be released soon though. Disco 4 SE

Another vote for GG AT. I've had them for 6 months and I'm really happy with them.

Had General Grabber AT on my Disco 3 SE, very disappointed they do not have a strong enough side wall for such a heavy car. You can feel the tyres leaning on cornering, plus side is they have good wear characteristics. Experience off road in North Africa has also shown them to be very susceptible to punctures, this is not just confined to them on D3/D4's. These comments apply to the AT2 and the newer AT General Grabber tyres.
The only off road tyres certified by LandRover for D3 and D4 are Goodyear MTR's, however you will not be able to get any until sometime in May 2012.
I have switched to Goodyear MTR's and the only down sides are lower mpg and increased wear, but the plus side is that the side walls have KEVLAR in them.
I know a few people who have put Scorpion ATR's on their D3/D4's and are really pleased with them.
If I switch back to an AT style tyre it will be the Scorpions. Mike

I agree with Thelo3 - I have just had Gereral Grabber ATs fitted all round from Andy at AJS (many thanks again Andy for brilliant service etc ) to my D3 and they are superb!
Excellent grip on the road and very capable off road.
No complaints whatsoever.
