Check my gallery. I went for a cheap ebay kit which is wireless and is viewed on a screen that clips over the rear view mirror
Wired into the number plate light to save hassle.
I mounted it purposely so it can see the towbar and bumper for edging up to parked cars. Perfect and all for about £50!Current: D3 TDV6 S; GGAT's, DIY 7inch Tablet mount, DIY Reversing Camera, Stage 1 remap, EGR delete

Well as you're after advice for a D1 you're not likely to find info on here TBH
Many thanks.
Yep, I know that in terms of original build / factory fitted items - but since this is an ''add on'' it seemed worth trying since the knowledge base of members is so wide and deep - I think that you'll agree with that, will you not...... 'appen?....

Hello,
my problem: I ordered my Disco with the reversing camera, the dealer or someone else messed it up and the Disco was delivered without it. The dealer offered to retrofit the camera an I agreed. Now I have the camera but it is not working as the original one as it was delivered by LR in a new car. There are supposed to be quite a few things to customize about what is being displayed. NONE of these things work with the camera. It's just the image with distance graphics and that's it. The dealer says it is NOT possible to make it work as the original one.
My question: is that correct? I'd be happy to get a hint how to solve this problem as I want the camera to be working like it was originally built in by LR factory.
I'll let others answer your question as I have no experience of that but my first thought is that what the dealer has told you is complete rubbish.
Above anything, if you ordered a factory fitted reversing camera, you should get one.
Others will confirm if the there is any reason for your issues.Current: Discovery 3 06MY (55 reg) HSE Auto Zambezi Silver Allisport Fast Road Intercooler, V8 Brakes, Silicone IC Hoses, EGRs Blanked, Remapped, De-Cat pipe, FBHIC

Your English is fine.
If you have the reversing camera, you will see it has lines on the graphics. They do not move as you turn the car. They are static. There is nothing you can alter.
If you have surround cameras, the lines bend and you have other options.

Welcome.
As has been mentioned, there is more than one type of camera. The standard reversing camera fitted at the factory is as you describe - no additional functionality and the graphics are fixed. This is what my camera is like and unless you order the surround camera system it is all you get from the factory.
From your description the error from the factory has been corrected and the camera is functioning normally. If you ordered the surround camera system then you would expect to have all the additional features, but this is not a simple system to install away from the factory.

Thx for the quick replies.
No, I ordered the simple reversing camera.
I understand that the functionality for the back camera as described in the cars manual are for the surround cameras system only. BUT: I have confirmation from another Disco 4 MY14 driver who has the single reversing camera but the guiding lines BEND when he turns the car. Mine don't do anything. So there must be a difference to the factory built-in camera. No?

A single reversing camera lines never bent even on factory fits. Your friend must have an aftermarket, non LR product?

Just received confirmation from 2 Disco drivers (both modelyear 2014) that with the simple original reversing camera delivered with their new car they have full functionality including bending lines and other helping features being displayed. This may have changed with model year 2014 OR is different in Germany compared to other countries !?!?
