So just been out for a drive and used the brakes a bit (going down winnits pass towards Castleton).
As we arrived home i was greeted with a brake pad warning. Not to alarmed although I have only had the car 1 month. Front disks look a little worn, rears hardly worn at all. Obviously can't see the pads.
How much will I pay for a set of brake pads fitted, and how much wil i pay for disks and pads? Just looking for ballpark figures.
I really should get into doing this job myself, however I would have to lay out for a trolley jack and axles stands. Just wondering if I should make the effort or just get them done? D3 - RRS - Now D4

Genuine pads are pricey but probably worthwhile - TLO is your best bet although postage may be high!
I paid £83 (I think - may have been more) for an axle set I think and my indy fitted them for free

It was drummed into me by my driving instructors on Land Rovers, HGV, Saracen, Tracked Vehicles: never ever faff around when it comes to other mens wives and brakes! The warning system is there for a reason and a D3 isn't a Fiat 500!
