Lift rods

Hi All.

Any one using the lift rods to lift their vehicle when offroading.

Do they cause any other problems or damage anything else riding so high for long lengths of time.

There's a new company on here advertising an electronic adjuster and recalibrator. Think britpart are also rebadging them too. May be easier for when you want to drop it back down for road sections

I use rods made in Australia by a company called green oval experience. 2 min job to fit each corner, then 10 secs to flip over when needed.

Work very well. Has caused no probs. have even driven 300 kilometres with the extra 50mm, as it only varies the alignment by 3 degrees, so not much to worry about there.

Cost was about $140

Hi,

the australians are building the electronic "llams" controller also for D4: http://www.llams.com.au/

We have a german dealer, who distributes it, probably also to the UK? All options there: Click.

Yes I use them both on and off road.

I have had no issues attributable to using the rods. I have two sets of wheels, one set with standard diameter tires and one set with oversized tires (32"). The rods I use have two height positions standard and approx 2" lift it is a 10min job to change the height all round. I use the 2" lift with the larger dia tires both on and off road.

If you intend to permanently lift your car, you will probably want to have the tracking done at the raised position to prevent uneven tire wear. Mine is raised 50% of the time and again no issues so far.

The lift rods by themselves do not seem to have affected the handling of the car on-road very much, the handling has been affected more by the taller profile mud tires (a bit more squidgy!)

Best bit about them is knowing you will not ground out were other D3's in the group will Whistle Whistle
