TDV6 v SDV6 ?
Excuse my ignorance ...but just started tentatively browsing used D4's and noticed the 2 different "versions"...I assume there are practical (ie engine output)differences and its not just a new designation ?...."Better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to speak out and remove all doubt" ?.....what rubbish...

Yeah, mine is a 3.0 TDV6 with 245BHP! Does anyone know whether there was a 210 HP 3.0 TDV6? I am sure I have heard of that before. I mean before the changes of MY11, because they all used to be TDV6 when it was MY10 2023 Ineos Grenadier 3.0 Diesel Commercial

Current TDV6 is a 3.0 litre 210HP, SDV6 is 3.0 litre 255HP. Same for 11MY though emissions have been lowered for both for 2012MY. Economy for the current TDV6 is 36mpg, and it is also a lower road tax bracket both in the UK and in Ireland....
2010MY had 2.7 TDV6 190HP and 3.0 TDV6 245 HP choices, with the former being available in manual in the Commercials and GS range only.2016 Discovery 4 Commercial

I think the 210bhp was only ever available on commercial model. The sub-225 g/km model is not available in uk I think. Which is annoying

Am I right in thinking that the 255hp came in before the 8 speed box, ie 255hp and the last of the 6 speed with gear lever ?

Unfortunately it doesn't agree with the databse the insurance companies and underwriters are using.
Worth checking out what you are actually covered for, because my April 2011 SDV6 HSE 7 seater was being classed as a 2011 TDV6 HSE 5 seater

Now I'm confused. I thought it was:
10MY:
2.7 TDV6 191BHP (in commercials)
3.0 TDV6 245BHP
11MY:
3.0 TDV6 210BHP (in commercials)
3.0 SDV6 245BHP
Correct, except all models in Europe now have the 8 speed auto for the 12MY. And it was possible to have the 6 speed manual gearbox with the first 2.7 TDV6 2010MY Commercials in the UK. Australia and some other rest of world markets still using the 6 speed auto.
Here in Ireland all 12MY models have the 210bhp TDV6 to lower the tax bands on VRT and road tax........ 2016 Discovery 4 Commercial

Hi, for those of you talking with insurance companies about getting model details correct; its worth noting (to muddy the waters more) that Land Rover in their press releases http://newsroom.jaguarlandrover.com/en-in/...ss_200910/ refer to the 245 Bhp SDV 6 model as below.
