Engine system fault

Engine system fault appeared and car stopped. Engine would turn over and not start.

Fault code: p2290 injector control pressure too low.

Fault cleared with fault mate. Engine turns over but will not start. Any ideas please?

Blocked fuel filter or fault with low pressure fuel pump

Start by replacing the filter, and see if the system bleeds, using the bleed point at the back of the engine bay. Would be worthwhile checking the fuel pressure at the same time...

Also see if you can here the fuel pump running in the tank when you turn the key on. If not then it could be fubard.

Not good Sad. But at least you have found the fault. A new intank pump is about £500+vat from memory and 1-1.5 hr job.

Thanks for replys, back on road today with new in tank fuel pump and bill for £668 all in !!

Leading up to the failure there were no signs of anything wrong, Just at time of failure - 'Engine System Fault' and car stopped, unable to restart car, after 30mins car started for a second then stopped again. Is this catastrophic failure usual ?

By the way Pete FBH starts with your box of trick's just fine !!

Best Wishes
Paul

Glad you got it fixed Paul. It should also drive better now as generally a failed fuel pump will have been running weak and under pressure for sone time which weakens of the power little by little but generally goes unnoticed and is some cases causes engine system faults under hard load. now all will be restored with the new pump and for sure be back to how it should be Smile

Good news on the FBHIC working perfectly.
