Swapped the 3 for a 4 on 26th Nov, rang Chaucer, paid increased premium + extra days cover for the 3 etc.
8th Dec got a letter from them saying they needed a copy fo the V5 and mine and my wifes driving licences (New company policy etcetc)
8th was a Thursday I think, obviously no V5 yet, only just got the car.
Mond 12th got an email telling me my insurance was cancelled and to send my cert back!
I'm ABSOLUTELY disgusted! I have my 90 and D4 with them, pay in full up front and this is how they treat me?
I rang them but its not the girl at the call centres fault. Who do I go to higher up the tree? I want to show them the wording of the letters and how ridicuous they are making themselves look! If you aren't living life on the edge, you're taking up too much space!!

That all sounds very odd! Write to or ring Kim Barber there. You sure the cancellation wasn't on the sold car (i.e. you said you organised extra 'days' cover)
