Complete coincidence ?
Right...I'm about to get massacred by those clever people on here who understand these things...
Ever since I have had my beloved D3,it has flagged up the "E" message just after "system check" and just before showing the gear indicator after firing up......
Now ,The Wife was complaining today that the air-con was not as chilly as she would like,so following instructions on here I did the whole "hold down recirc + econ button at the same time thing"....it showed no faults according to the guide......guess what ?....the "E" has disappeared.......
I refuse to believe the 2 are linked...please tell me I am not imagining things ?"Better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to speak out and remove all doubt" ?.....what rubbish...

Hmmm! You have got me thinking now as mine comes up with the 'E' at the same time that yours displayed it.I thought that was just a normal sequence as the computers booted up.
I will have to search for the guide you mentioned and try it out to see if my 'E' disappears.

Err have the same E message as I have posted before and it has only appeared after the rear air con pipe problem and a re gas of the air con was completed, I better try and see if this sorts my E !! I must admit that the air con still isn't that coldD3 2.7 TDV6 Man HSE

Ok well that's bad news......that answers my original post,it WAS complete coincidence......what are the other suggestions as to why the "E" message comes up ?....and before anyone says RTFH ...... my car and handbook have gone on holiday for 2 weeks....."Better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to speak out and remove all doubt" ?.....what rubbish...

There is nothing in the manual, I have checked. The garage I bought from contacted Land Rover for help and they did not have a clue....great!!! Will be interesting to see if the E stays off on yours euangibson. I hate these silly niggles, still have my alarm to be fixed, I guess there will always be some problem with this car!D3 2.7 TDV6 Man HSE

Had yet more work done as the FBH not working and some other issues!!!!, fault codes cleared and FBH now working but I think has failed today so lasted one day!! anyway... but while in the garage the low battery warning message appeared and some research found that the "E" could be linked, so new battery fitted, bloody "E" still there, got to be a way to fix this?D3 2.7 TDV6 Man HSE

Thought the E was linked to the X/Y sensor?

I have followed the sequence suggested on these forums to reset the X/Y sensor, and I still get the "E"......that was pretty much my last throw of the dice....my car had a new clutch fitted just before I bought it thought maybe the sensor hadn't been reset.....I'm still in the dark...
