Fuel pump information needed please.
Hi all
Have a recurring non start problem with my 54 plate d3. I have been advised it is probably the low pressure fuel pump in the tank.
Spoke to my local robbing dealer and they inform me that the price is £620+vat parts only as it comes with a control module on this age vehicle.
So for some techy person out there I have 2 questions
1 what is the control module for and why does it need renewal??
2 as I repair all my own vehicles will the module need coding once fitted?? If so can anyone on here help?
Cheers simp

The in-tank pump doesnt need coded to the car AFAIK. But that does seem rather expensive, and they aren't that common for failing...

No fault codes as not dealer diagnosed. Only spoke to parts person who informs me that the pump and module come as a kit... I cannot buy a pump separately!
Just wondering why?? Hopefully someone on here will have experienced this and have an answer.

Who advised the pump was at fault?
Would be well worth investing in a diagnostic session before you go throwing parts at the car, hoping for a fix
Just out of interest, have you replaced the fuel filter? Quite common for blocking up, and causing various issues My D3 Build Thread
