After having our front passenger door refuse to unlock (except for the "pull the manual unlock lever whilst pressing the internal unlock all button" trick), I booked it into the dealers for the latch to be replaced a couple of weeks ago...
...where they then stripped the door BEFORE noticing that the replacement part was actually broken too
So, it's being picked up tomorrow for a second attempt. I'd like to think they'll verify the state of the next replacement before any more dismantling goes on

Its very interesting, though "comforting" is perhaps not the right word , but anyway, to realise there must be lots of others with this passenger door lock problem.
As Bigtomdrum rightly says, shouldn't this now be a national concern, but how does that happen, say, through some osmosis from this website??
Only as good as the weakest link...., I am now just waiting for it to happen again...which, based on previous, will be when it gets very cold oustside/raining and a queue of traffic behind! Don't put it off, go for it!

for your info dsl..The alloys on the edge where the slots are they are becoming pitted and rough to touch with discolouring as the lacquer finish seems to be coming off.The centre part of alloy is fine smooth and shiny to touch.
