Even I know that is nonsense (and I am female )
As far as I am aware you either have the webasto heater fitted (most places) or not (some of the hotter countries I believe). I have never heard of a different heater being fitted depending in what options are enabled
(The webasto in the D4 is a different heater to that in the D3 but the same applies - the same heater for all D3's regardless).

You got it! If there is a problem, than its the battery and the battery management. Your dealer is probably not able to do the activation. You need somebody with a Faultmate or buy a IIDTool.

Remove the panel in the boot ..in Uk its the drivers side
For newer Discovery 4 models the cable is now accessible from the small door on the right side in the trunk. Installation is just a few minutes. No screwdriver or tools needed.

Just fitted the receiver and antenna to my 2012 D4 in under 5 minutes. As kastone says the connector is accessible through the right hand pulloff panel. The one with the Jack in it on a UK car. Take the Jack out and the plug is right in front of you at the top of the opening. It is the only thing there that is wrapped in foam. To the left of the plug, behind the trim panel are 3 raised slots on the metal panel that is above the internal wheel arch. The receiver slots in there, the small 3rd slot acting as a catch to retain it. A bit of a fiddle with big hands but not impossible.
If you fit the antenna first and fit it with the socket for the electrics facing down you can pair the remote in the same action as connecting the whole thing up.
The only issue is what to do with the antenna. The current part number is quite long with a plug at either end but I just plugged in one end and pushed it into the empty space above the wheel arch and it seems to work fine. I dare say to do it properly you would have to remove the whole panel.

Graeme, if you'd have got the earlier antenna it's a proper antenna and not just a connector for the one that should be in the roof.
But if it's working fine, then no problem Bodsys Brake Bible
I tried to get the earlier one but it has been superseded by this one in every retailer I could find. Also I've seen quoted that this is the correct part number for my chassis. I'll have a proper look around behind the panel next time I get a chance. Probably should be an aerial in the sharks fin but I've never seen anything on the Web to indicate that it is actually there.
