D3 AND STERLING OVERLANDER:TRIAL RUN!

Hi all:
thanks for the responses so far re newbie issues its much appreciated ! fitted the quick release tow bar off ebay@ £170 new fits like a dream and hitched up the caravan to the electrics and the high level brake light on the van now works! never did with the freelander 2! electrics wel leasy to connect and tows like a dream, as others have said in the forum you dont know the vans on!
struggled with the Milenco wing mirrors though as the disco has the aluminium wing mirror covers on, which are not standard so the edge is not flat. May have to get extension mirrors that clamp around the back some how rather than at the top of the mirror.
great website by the way and loads of useful help!
appreciate it
Steve

Hi Steve,

I can see the trouble with the Milencos. I don't have the wing mirror caps myself but I have tried the mirror extensions which strap around the back. Due to the design of the mirrors, which are triangle like, and their size, I could not find a suitable one.

I have not tried this myself although have been thinking about it: have you tried fising the Milencos on the underside of the mirrors? It will look strange but I think it must be possible. If I have time, will go out tomorrow and try it out.

Regards,

Wiljo

Tried it and it works just fine.

Don't use the powerfold as you will damage your door.
Thumbs Up

Cos I've got bright mirror caps I'll need to fit my Aeros on the bottom of the door mirrors, and they fold automatically when I lock the car. I need to check this out so thanks for the heads up.
