Quick question about LED interior light upgrade..

Question is do I need to buy the "Canbus error free" type, or just "normal" T10 type bulbs ?

Thanks

Interior is “just” normal T10. No need for CAN type

Tip: be aware of available color differences , i myself prefer 2700K , they are bright enough, but still some “warmth”
The higher the number in K, the colder the lightcolor…

Xenon white is from 4700k and higher, like 6000k
Far too white for interior light IMHO
 Best regards

System will record error codes for interior lights, I just ignore them.

Hi

Hope u don’t mind me mentioning but ages ago I bought some T10 LEDS for the interior , the ones I chose had like a metal casing , alas they shorted out the middle light so wished to at least give u a heads up with regards to ones that have this metal casing

Ended up replacing the complete centre light assembly , just wished to mention it

Ur so welcome , can’t find the actual bulbs but something similar to this that fused my interior light

As a side note , fitted some small leds in the boot panel and must admit really does help

Interesting.. I'd thought about doing that, also thought about putting some in the lower panel of the top tailgate to face down when the tailgate is open .

You can do both if required, I swapped out the interior lights for leds, dropped the small leds in the same place as gstuart and then put a robust light onto the upper table gate, both on separate switches, give great light.

Hiya

That’s looks extremely nice what you’ve done there Bow down must admit when I added the 3 x leds into that headlining cover makes all the difference , the centre light I had a spare puddle light so fitted that ( as u do , lol )

thinking good job there not halogen bulbs as can imagine watching the lights dim as the battery drains, lol

Thks again

Thanks gstuart, they’re connected to the auxiliary battery rather than the main, means when I’m camping in the back, I can have them on most of the night without worrying about the battery. Did a 3 nighter in the summer and only had a volt or 2 drop on the aux. I’m out camping over Christmas in the D3, maybe a week or more but confident they’ll be good for it.

Ur so welcome , thanks for sharing the piccies

That’s a smart idea ref the Aux battery , u saying that reminds me of another job I’ve got to do, bought all the bits , ie solar panel , DC to DC charger etc , just need to work out the distance between the roof rails to mount the solar panel, have short rails but want to buy the longer ones

Apologies I’m waffling again Laughing
