As per the advise on this subject I tried 2sO mineral at about 250ml per tankful and it certainly made quite a difference in smoothness and performance of the engine. I've never been one for additives but this has proved me wrong so far. The one question I have is what effect if any 2sO will it have on the emissions when it come to the MOT.

Thanks

I've been adding 2-stroke for a couple of years now, and never had a problem with emissions. If anything it should be cleaner because in theory the oil raises the cetane rating, giving a bigger and better "bang".

I have read on a FL2 Forum, some German professor in the oil industry has written pages on the subject, in favour of using non synthetic 2 stroke oil at 200:1 mix, 50ml to a tankful. I have used this now for over a year and am convinced that the engine is smoother and quierter, not that it was ever noisey anyway. My slight concern is that it makes the diesel go slightly red................ .. Very Happy Laughing Laughing

I'd be surprised if such a small amount showed up that much. Red diesel is, well, err, red, very red. Having said that, whilst I get the 2-stroke oil in 4.55 litre cans, I always carry a 1 litre bottle in one of the side compartments in the car. You could always show them that?

Using this stuff

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TWO-STROKE-OIL-A...43a20e7780

At 200:1 ratio or 350ml when filling from fuel gauge showing about 1/4

OK. Converted. Thought I'd just try it when i filled up. Bought a bottle of mineral 2stroke and put in 350ml in 77 litres. Shocked Blimey what a difference: Quieter, smoother and better pickup. Very Happy

Now ordered 25L drum as per previous post. Wish i'd tried it sooner.
