Not the usual tailgate switch not working post

Hi Folks,
unlocking the tailgate has been very hit and miss of late.

Bought a new switch as it was unlocking through the 2button method and the 3rd button on remote.

For some reason, it's still not working. Iv'e checked the switch and it's ok. Have checked the continuity to the multi plug on the upper tailgate - after that I don't know where the wires go to test them.

Anyway, over that I have a lazy actuator and a cable end thats about to let go (has a fracture on the bend)

Just annoyed at the new switch not solving one of the problems - the wires seem to go through to the bottom tailgate and into the actuator but they must terminate elsewhere as they come through as a thicker cable.

Can anyone offer any help with this ?
Thanks,
Stephen.

I was convinced mine was the switch but new actuator cured it, youtube D3 tailgate actuator theres a few vids on there showing difference between new and old.

I changed the acutator on mine at the weekend as I had similar symptoms and had already done the switch. The old actuator was barely moving the cable. The new one snaps right back and makes a very audible clunk when opening. If anyone needs the part number its FUG500010.

Mine works fine off the key-fob button, but not off the upper tailgate button itself. New switch hasn't solved it, any tips on where to look next?
