Low voltage mode -new one on me
Ok - one for the sages here. Tonight just as I switched off my ignition - I saw a brief message in the radio/clock console that said 'low voltage mode' with a picture of a car battery - anyone know what this one is/means - well apart from low voltage mode ? 2007 TDV6 HSE 'Silver Lady'. I think it means that, since there is no power to the woofer or sub woofer speaker, if you have the volume over 20 these speakers are not working so it is telling you that the sound system can only go to 20 max without the power on, I think!!!!!

The low voltage mode means that the radio's volume has been limited to 20 because the engine is not on.1996 Discovery 1 300TDI ES Biarritz Blue, sold

I have seen this with the engine off, and also the other day when I had just set off from home, I cranked the volume on "Mr Blue Sky" (it was sunny and cold and I was feeling good!), and got the same. Would not let me go over vol 20 for about 2 minutes of driving.
I suppose its monitoring the system volts.

Was it 'low voltage mode' or 'low power mode'? Low power mode is the stereo restricting full power because the engine is not running. Low voltage is something different....Disco 5 HSE Lux

Try Hysteria by Muse at max volume with all windows open!
If you have the volume cranked above 20 while the engine is running when you turn the engine off the radio will automatically drop to 20 and when you restart the radio will need to be adjusted above 20 again to continue to deafen yourself
And the message on the radio is "Low Power Mode" with the battery symbol.

thanks for the replies every one - yes had the volume over 20 I think & switched off the engine -so the radio dropped itself down in volume.
Good news also today got my steering part come into the dealers for the steering problem I have- clunks over bumps etc, so should have this sorted soon. 2007 TDV6 HSE 'Silver Lady'. With 'free' privacy glass LOL.
