Transmission Range change not available !!!

Hi all,

Has anyone had the following message appear on the dashboard information "Transmission range change not available" looked up the handbook to see if it gave any hints ,under the meaning and what to do columns both boxes are blank .Any info much appreciated

If it occurs soon after startup, it is more than likely to be a failing battery.

I'll check the battery voltage out tomorrow before and after start up, cheers Gareth
One other thing ,could it be water ingress on a sensor as it happened not long after getting jet washed ?

Hmm, I hope you didn't wash the area behind the battery. The Transmission ECU is down there, and susceptible to water ingress. Best keep pressure washers away from the engine bay full stop!

No jet washing carried out in the engine bay just wondered if there was any sensors around the wheels area that maybe got blasted with water .

There are several. I know there are many posts on here regarding a vulnerable connector behind the front left wheelarch liner. I am sure there are more.
