New remote fob will not reprogramme

Well after spending loads of money on getting my suspension replaced and a big service I decided to buy a replacement key from the dealers.

My local garage and the main landrover dealership cannot reprogramme it. It is booked to go back in two weeks. Has anybody had this problem before?

Possible the key has been programmed before to a different car and now it is not possible to be reprogrammed to yours.

Hi and thanks for your input but the fob is brand new from Land rover, I did think about buying a second one, but after reading some threads on the forum, I knew they cannot be reused.
