It was a sign of problems ahead. Last night when I switched off the engine , opened the doors and the chime that sounds when your head Lights are still switched on, well the chime started but faded as if speaker had gone under water. .
So Im thinking there is a problem with the chime in the instrument cluster.....(all electrics seem to work okay), and am wondering if anybody else had this problem? I will probably have to remove instrument cluster to have a closer look .....
Does anyone have an old instrument cluster the want to get rid of for a few quid?
and thanks in advance for any help......

well, I got round to checking the battery today, and it was 12.4 volts cold, and 14.2 volts with engine running so I dont think its a battery problem.
the chime for the lights on warning, and the indicators clicking sound has all gone so Im still thinking that the instrument cluster speaker or speaker driver chip has blown..........I cant see any other problems....
Has anyone else experienced this?.......Im looking for the cheapest fix of course......

I know of a few instrument clusters that have been changed for speaker failure.
Shouldn't cause any issues in the operation of the car.
