Allergic to alcohol, that is quite something. The Rhine does have some magic where wine is concerned, but it never seems to travel well, so we don't get a lot of quality Rhine Wines in the UK. Must admit to liking Rhudesheim whites, oh and its Brandy.

Bringing this thread back on track.. my temp guage ( mentioned this on here a good while ago ) suffers the same. Being intermittent, I wanted to be clear on when it happens. Basically when the car 'cooks' for a while in the sun, my temp guage sticks at about 75F for about 10 to 15 mins after starting, and thereafter ... normally ... reads correctly. However, sometimes it reads what ever it damm well likes ... I'm still in the very long Q for a new compressor (suspension problem..) and really can't be arsed to give up the car more than needed. ..............Somewhere in-between my old D3 and what's to come next .........

The external temp sensors can be placed anywhere. I think the D3 is under the front bumper somewhere so it can retain heat untill moving. This could be the reason why it has erratci readings. or of course it is defective, I go for the defective from what you are saying.
I think it is connected to certain important things like the heater, so it has to be right.
