Take the connectors off the airbag, one black and one brown.
Squeeze the tabs on each side of each connector and gently pull.06 D3 SE / 15 LR D90 XS SW / 88 LR 90 Td5 / 68 BMW 2000 ti

Only issue is the 2009 Soft Wheels backing plate has a small cut out on the right side where there was not one on the original? You can see it when you get in the car......

Swap the one off your old wheel, it unpops. Did you swap the metal damper between the wheels?06 D3 SE / 15 LR D90 XS SW / 88 LR 90 Td5 / 68 BMW 2000 ti

it looked like it had the metal bit but not the brass bit!

The brass coloured part (held on with Torx screws IIRC) needs to be swapped over to the new wheel.06 D3 SE / 15 LR D90 XS SW / 88 LR 90 Td5 / 68 BMW 2000 ti

I have taken it off again and swapped the back cover and the Brass Weight bit
