About time too. Wish they'd run it in the national press, though. Putting it in Autocar is almost preaching to the converted. Land Rover should stand up for themselves too. Disco 5 HSE Lux

Sounds lke a clever tax to me, tax a car that is erm doing nothing bad at all..... When the owner has probably taken the bus or train to work.

Just submitted my opinion.
And they won't like it. (Tough!).
I agree that its about time LR got off their @rses and fought back. They owe it to us, as well as defending their own product.

richmond council
Crazy lefties. I suppose they think the last ice age, was caused by stoneage man leaving his fridge door open.
Anyway, Clarkson stated some time ago that a cow produces more C02 in a day from farting, than a v8 Range Rover produces over 12000 miles. So perhaps next they'll be targetting farmers. Where will it end.

A cow actually produces around 600 litres of methane a day, methane is 23 x more potent than Carbon Dioxide as a greenhouse gas. There are 1.4 billion cows currently walking the planet. 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

We already pay an increase in tax on our fuel use when we drive. Now they want us to pay a tax when we don't! Typical barmy council if you ask me. I just wonder what kind of small, fuel efficient car the Mayor and his cronies drive around in - Probably one like our senior government people no doubt!
As usual dual standards.

Have replied to them, for what it's worth.
Even if they get an overwhelming 'no' to their plan, it will happen anyway. Look at cretin Ken and his 'consultation' over the congestion charge extension.
There is an upside: the Standard reported the day after Richmond's plans were published that properties in London with a drive or garage will go up by 20%. That's another 20% to my pension fund. Thanks, Richmond. Why anyone would spend £100k extra on a house rather than an additional £300 per year on a permit is beyond me, but hey-ho, I won't complain if it happens. No longer a D3 owner but still subscribed to multiple threads!
