I've currently got a 2008 Disco 3 SE and as she's 3 years old next month I'm thinking of changing it to a D4.
Could anyone offer some advice as to wether or not I wait for the new 2012 MY D4 or I have been offered a new Landmark.
Also what discounts if any have you been offered or did you manage to negotiate on your part ex?
The prices I'm getting all seem to pitch the Landmark at full retail and then they are offering less than book trade in for mine. My car has only done 23K miles with full LSH and is immaculate.
Not sure what to do as you always ending up losing which ever way you go!
Any advice would be appreciated.
Cheers

Unnecessary quote removed
Landrover's UK dealers are short on allocation and therefore demand is keeping ahead of supply. Further, as we head towards winter the 4 x 4 market strengthens. With this in mind, I would not expect huge discounts however others who have purchased recently may be able to share their experience. With regard to your trade in, I suggest you sell it privately. I did when we moved from a D3 to D4 and achieved over 2k more than the reasonable trade in offer. If you don't sell your car privately by the time your new car arrives, let the dealer have it at a pre-agreed trade-in price. In addition, you can also ring round other dealers to see if they would offer more. Current:
2014 RRS 3.0 HSE
Porsche 997 GT3
BMW 118d SE
Past:
D4 HSE 3.0 TDV6 Auto
D3 HSE 2.7 TDV6 Auto

I went looking for a landmark ... £47000 and pretty much no discount .
Spec was pretty naff so ended up ordering a HSE .
Total £49995 ( and that was with 2 grands worth of options added )
So essentially a grand more for a HSE. ... Alright not a 2012 spec .. But it was only a few months ago G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

Hi
if you are looking to trade your car, try one of the companies that buy cars. would not use the one with the catchy advert though. i have used a company called Sell Car UK, the chap to ask for is MArk, sold a RRS and a Porsche to them, and achieved higher price than the garage offered me. wortha thought anyway. Cheers

I looked at the Landmark and I know its all personal choice but I thought some of the "additions" were a bit naff looking. Lots of shiny bits that just didnt seem to go
Just my opinion D4 HSE - Aintree Green
D4 Orkney my13 - gone
Stornaway D4. Gone, Didn't like it at all
D3 silver manual. Loved my first LR

Mine has less shiny bits than an HSE...
(They're all black?)
Only thing I miss is my dipping mirrors for parking, but then mine was £8,000 cheaper than a new HSE

For what it's worth here's what I've done. Wanted a Landmark but the dealer told me that the new Landmarks won't be MY2012, but MY2011. I then priced up an XS with all the bits I wanted and it was Landmark money but a MY2012. Didn't get much discount and the trade in offer for my D3 wasn't great. In the end I ordered the XS but then tried to sell my D3 privately. Whist it was up for sale I called around other dealers to see what they'd offer for my D3. I found an independant used LR company who offered me 1500 more than the dealer and just a tad shy of what I thought I'd get privately so sold it to them so save some hassle and to get it gone.

Thanks for all the advice.
My Disco 3's going in for a service on Friday and I'm going to keep it for another 6 months and then look for a 2012 MY XS or HSE in the spring.
Just fitted Pirelli ATRs about 2 months ago so would liek to get the winter out of those tyres especially if ti's anyhting like last year!!
Cheers
