Do a search, get a better price and then call your current insurers. They will in all liklihood come down to around the price quoted from elsewhere. So it's fairly obvious that they are just adding money on to your premium for no good reason.
Tried that with NFU as Privilege beat them by £350 - told me to take it or leave it. I think that they're just trying to shed business.

They quote you something reasonable to get your business, then come renewal time they take the p*ss. They're just looking for the folk that'll renew and can't be bothered or don't have the time to look around.
This was my renewal quote. Last year it was roughly the same price. I cant understand how some of you guys are having to pay so much with no convictions, claims etc etc. It must come down to postcode I suppose.

I share your pain. my D2 insurance went up 20% this year. It is now twice what I paid for a Porsche 911, insured on the same basis. All we can do is to shop around. [sold the 911 to buy a D3]

Gone back to DirectLine from LV. Tried all the price comparison websites, and they all are the same. In the end my premium (£614) was only £50 higher than last year. But that is still alot of money. Dreading the RoadTax in Oct... "...I'm so broke I can't even pay attention..."

Admiral just upped my insurance at renewal by£400. A quick go on confused revealed that elephant would do it for £50 less than last year. Elephant is part of the same group as Admiral, so Admiral matched it. Sort of happy with that although can't help thinking that they are just ripping their existing customers off. Cheeky . Oh well, I have had more than my money's worth out of them! VIN: A175A328***
