Orange Engine Warning Light
Over the weekend the orange warning light that looks like an engine lit up on the dashboard. I looked at the manual and it says that it is something to do with engine efficiency compromised.
Is this likely to be the ERG? If this is the case it’s happened before but when the car was well within the manufacturer warranty so was fixed for free.
My Disco’s not inside the warranty now but I see that this has been an issue for quite a few people over the years.
Is this a known issue that Land Rover will cover the costs for?
Or do I have to pay for this myself? If so how much is it likely to cost and how long will it take?

Hi Chancer just to let you know I have the same issue with the yellow engine light, I actually didnt even bother to look it up as I though it was a standard light, mine goes out when the engine is started?

I think that it comes on for everybody when you turn the key in the ignition. If it goes out when you start the engine everything is fine.
The problem I'm having is that it's staying on all the time.

As you are an 07 Model, then it is more likely to be EGR's than anything else. It is a known issue, and the valves have been superseded many times to help improve the reliability of the valves...
Unfortunately, you are now out of warranty, so will be at your cost. Try and find an independent dealer, as the repair will be much cheaper than taking it to a main dealer, or buy the valves, and replace yourself My D3 Build Thread

Mine is on....and it's the coolant sensor. But mine doesn't have the EGR's, it's a gasser....17 Discovery 5 HSE Si6, Fuji White on brown | 07 LR3 SE 4.4 Java Black on Alpaca
