Rear View Mirror has fallen off. Help !

Rear view mirror has fallen off ! Its at 06 HSE. There are wires for the autodip and wiper sensors, which are all fine. The mirror should clip on to a hex nut which is bonded to the windscreen, but I can't work out how to get it on. I have taken of the plastic covers, but is there a trick to line it up and put it back on ?
