Does anyone know if there is only one type of AC compressor and condenser fitted to the Disco 2005-2009 - I'm thinking there may be a difference with the type fitted with rear climate control?
I'm just about to undertake a rear climate control transplant and want to be sure I have all parts to hand - semi wishing I never started this now lets hope the rear climate makes a noticeable difference to the comfort of the kids travelling in the rear!

Those with rear AC (like mine ) have an extra AC unit in the rear passenger side on the last row.
Other than that, the pipework is different (for running to the rear AC) but the front AC unit is the same in all. Bodsys Brake Bible

Many thanks Bodsy... That makes life a whole lot easier, I have everything there now. Just need to think a way of transporting the complete headlining home in the back of a VW passat estate.. somehow don't think it will fit!? I would have left taking the complete headlining and opted for modifying my own but it appears that the roof vents and air ducts are built in?
Just need to source the C pillar trims that contain the air ducts and vents for the 3rd row passengers - incidentally do you know if the N/S boot trim panel is different, I believe it has a vent for the rear passenger foot well? If its different I'll need that too
I think I'll post the progress of this with pictures as I go for anyone else out there wanting to take on the headache of such a mod

I think the passenger side rear boot trim is the same for all 7 seaters, it's only what's behind it that is different. The 5 seater had a different trim, but that's all. Bodsys Brake Bible

Have you got the extra heating pipes as well? They run down the other side of the car to the refrigerant pipes. Bodsys Brake Bible

I thought 2006 HSE spec included rear aircon?
Let me know if you need a look at one with it fitted - we're just up the road from you in the Milngavie area - ours has just had all front-rear and other rear pipework replaced due to leaks (insert swear words here). Works great now, so worth it I guess.
(Interestingly a couple of Indies I spoke to suggested just disabling and sealing off the rear aircon as a cheaper "fix").
