there's definately the same 'floor' channel on the side rails. You may need to undo the bolts and fiddle about to get it in. will try to remember to take a pic later.

There's a big sheet of aluminium over all the floor rails. Like this pic I've nicked from someone else on here:-

I'm thinking of sticking the mounts through the small bit of exposed roof, although it may mean having to remove the antenae when loading.

Anybody know what's underneath there? Any ribs to give a bit extra support?

Isn't there a channel around the top rail that accepts captive bolts? Vertical, but if you have a Sirio with a swivel mount, all good. Thumbs Up
I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

Thanks for all the ideas chaps. This shows the type of base I'm trying to fit and why some of the ideas can't work:-

It goes onto an RLD mounting bracket fine, once the hole is reamed out to size. I wonder if I could put a right-angle bend into the bracket without damaging more than the powder coating . . . ?

Instead of using Ray's bracket why not just drill a hole through the aluminium flooring and fit the mount into it?
That's how I had mine mounted many years ago when I had the same rack

That's the best workable suggestion yet, Slimer. I looked at bolting Ray's bracket to the end of the floor but there is a cross rail right at the edge. There is already enough hassle in taking the rack on and off without having to muck about with antenna mounts as well

Beaten by the thickness of the floor - it's a sort of honeycomb structure for strength and much thicker than the available length of mount.

I'll away and try bending Ray's mount.

The floor rails on my RR have slots underneath,so using a piece of aluminium flat bar bolted to them, gives you a good base for the arial.Enjoy Thumbs Up

Use a piece of 50x25mm about 50mm long ali angle from B&Q bolted to the top rail with M6 bolts slid into the top rail from the back end. The 50mm side of the angle has plenty of room for a 259 hole and is horizontal. Every G4 had one on!
Off Roading is OK.... But I'd rather be Boating!
