2nd D3 - even more suspension problems than the first one!
Well bought a second D3 after selling the first one because of the expense of repairing it.
Thankfully I bought this one from a LR dealer with a 3 month warranty. So far it's spent as much time the dealer as it has with me!
This was the first fault (after 3 days of me owning her!)

Needed to have:
New air compressor
New ride height sensors
New relays
New front suspension strut
2 new parking sensors
Rear third wiring loom
1500 miles later and more suspension faults...
This morning the air suspension failed again. When I try put her into access level she goes into extended mode and then lowers back to access level on then immediately back to extended mode and so on....
The air suspension on the D3 seems full of bugs and problems. At least the dealer is picking up he bill for this.
NOT looking forward to ownership outside of the warranty. She's a 2006 HSE with 57k on the clock.
Do you guys also have all these problems with the air suspension?

I've got to be honest with you in saying that I do not have any suspension troubles !
I did ask TFC some 6 months ago if he did much work on D3 air suspension and he said that he had done hardly any and that it was fairly robust
I have heard about the ride height sensors breaking and compressor not working but I thought it was infrequent, you have bonked right out having two with dicky suspension woes !Only dead fish go with the Flow !

It sounds like they are just throwing parts at it hoping they will fix it, rather than understanding the fault code, and actually diagnosing the fault... Generally, the suspension system is quite reliable now (after all the early vehicles were sorted with various software upgrades)
If possible, get some fault codes, and let us know what they are. My D3 Build Thread

Just doing what I do best
Been playing with them for over 6 years now, and seen all sorts of faults with them, so if I can help anyone out, then why not. Spread the wealth and all My D3 Build Thread

Thanks for the feedback guys. I just seem to have really bad luck with D3s
The dealer is picking it back up on Wednesday so I'll see how it goes. The first D3 I had also had all these problems but stretched over 10 months. This one has had them in 4 weeks!
TFC did all the work on the suspension on the last D3 - that man is a genius!

Sounds like poor dealer to me.
Did they do a wheel alignment and height calibration after the work. If not get them to do one.“There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

Why would it have needed a 4 wheel alignment after having a new compressor and height sensors?
It would have needed a height calibration, yes, but a wheel alignment? My D3 Build Thread

New front suspension strut
Should have a height calibration for that as well anyway as it can have an effect on where the suspension sttles. My worn bushes caused suspension faults.“There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

If it was replaced does't mean nothing moved, should be done after any steering or suspension work.“There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€
