Yes - there's a feller selling copies on eBay. Ordinarilly I don't get involved in this sort of thing, but seeing as Land Rover point blank refused to sell me one or even try one to see if it improves my not-too-accurate Sat Nav, I'm prepared to try an "evaluation copy".

And if one happens to come across a new disc would it be a simple matter of taking out the old one and putting in the new one or is it more technical than that? Can anything go wrong??

Eject the old one, insert the new one. Software updates will happen automatically, showing a progress bar on the display. Once complete it auto reboots itself and away you go.

As easy as that. Only problem is getting the old one out & new one in! One poster (forgotten name sorrreeeeeeeeeee) has mentioned that you loose the 1791 hack code as it updates the system, even if you put the original back in.

The Denso system can (optionally) have a firmware upgrade on the DVD-ROM. It will only upgrade, not downgrade. So, once you put newer firmware on... going back to old discs won't make a difference... well, other than you getting the stale map data again.
