Ordered My 2012 MY HSE on Tuesday - last of their slots now before a November delivery, mine should be September delivery, as the quarter closed on 28th June. My dealer only had 3 slots for that quarter for Dico 4 2012.
I got charged the new price including options and they hardly budged on the new car price and you can see why.
I went with standard Hi Line stereo,as its £1200 for top end Dolby Logic 7 which has only 2 or 3 extra speakers and 800W rather than 400 W. Have to be one hell of a lot better for that sort of outlay for me. All other functioning is identical for the two systems ie connections etc.
The timed Park Heating is standard on HSE now and you only pay £300 for the remote control.
Vision assist pack saves you £20 from specing them seperately. I think ALL models have reversing camera as standard now. If it don't fit the third time - try a bigger hammer

I'm entitled to the NFU discount as well, but how exactly do they work out the discounts? You mention "8% off list", is this the final price including extras?? When do they take the NFU discount?

I think I just worked it out. I have to join the NFU, not just be insured by them. I suppose it's worth joining the NFU just to get the discount

Is the embargo gone today? There's an article on autocar.co.uk, but it doesn't say a lot and no pics of the interior

Looking at the NFU info, it appears the 5% is from the list price before VAT, so guess the dealers discount is added to that??

I doubt any normal dealers will have 2012MY for test drives yet. As far as I know my dealer was ordering 1 or 2 for stock which will come at same time as mine - supposedly Mid September. That was his allocation form the quarter which ended June 28th. I just decided to take a punt that the 8 speed box + more BHP engine + flappy paddles + self-erecting gear knob are worth it and WORK. , because I loved the weekend test drive so much If it don't fit the third time - try a bigger hammer

what justifies the difference between the XS & the HSE
same eveything on whats been posted.....just curious
HSE has to be significantly different to justify an otr price of £51k BREXIT - done properly.
Right now ...We need Government - not Politics
Save the Dipstick Flagbearer-keep it simple, less likely to fail campaign-agenda items:Starting Handles, Acetylene Lamps.
Founder: Dipsticks-R-Us Inc
D3 HSE-perfectly formed, passenger friendly...has real DIPSTICK
Jag XK-but sadly no DIPSTICK...HUGE design fault
FL2 has DIPSTICK..."real comfort in rear seats"
VW Golf wondermobile (?)..has real DIPSTICK
Morris Minor..original DIPSTICK technology..and a real KEY.

i knew about the bhp, 8 speed auto, better fuel consumption, but NOT the self-erecting gear knob. What is that? Any pictures?

Politically correct is to call it a "Drive Select rotary transmission shifter", but "self erecting gear knob" is straight to the point.
