Alarm going off every few days
I only use the single lock and not the internal movement alarm ( second press on button / door handle
The alarm will sound for 10 to 15 seconds every 3 to 7 days. Day time and sometimes at night.
All doors are closed and the sunroof is closed, the alarm sets with the bleep sounding to confirm it is set
Battery fully charged
Any one else get this or have any thoughts? Faultmate MSV-2
500,000 plus miles in RR,s and trying for more without breakdowns this time

Mine does not beep when the alarm is set 
If I leave a door open, or the bonnet/tailgate open, then it beeps to warn me. Maybe you have a faulty door/bonnet/boot switch that is telling the system a door has been opened?

Mine doesn't bleep either when alarm is set ,as Gareth said only if something isn't closed properly  Www.devonchilliman.co.uk

You are right there is no bleep (my fault) It the mirrors that fold back and the indicators that flash.
As the inside movement detector is not on with the first click can it be a spider? If so where do I start to look and clean with the vacuum Faultmate MSV-2

Personally, as its a D4 under warranty, I would let the dealer worry about the spiders.

Isn't it the other way around ?? I always thought the 2nd press within 5 seconds was the one to DISABLE the internal motion sensor. i.e. one press means all systems are enabled. That is certainly the case with my FFRR 'cos I have to use this feature when I have the dogs in the car.
Oh, and spiders live behind the A pillar trims in mine. Quite endearing but never set the alarm off though.

Everyone is right because the D3 & D4 are different.
For D3
2 push - basic lock and perimetric sensors.
1 push - as per 2 push + deadlock and interior sensors.
For D4
1 push - basic lock and perimetric sensors.
2 push - as per 1 push + deadlock and interior sensors.
D4 also has the ability from the menu to disable all sensors which includes tilt sensor, for things like the ferry.

The locking system on the D4 works the opposite way around to the D3, 2nd press activates the interior sensors and the deadlocking system.

I have also experienced the fault described in the first post.
The alarm went off every now and then, without no apparent cause. It has done so in both locking scenarios.
I mentioned it to the dealer and they said there was a newer version of the alarm software but they had no clue if that actually addressed the problem. I have however not had any problem with the alarm since the update, but there never was a logic to the problem in the first place so there really is no sure way to test if the problem is gone or not. Time will show, so far so good.

i had this   it was due to wd40 being used on the bonnet catches  acts as insulation as and when  do not let anyone lub near the alarm contacts  Doing my best on the red wine lake, as its good for the heart
my other 4+4 is a real tractor but not as much fun on road
