You just need to play the times, think you might need seats for the 23:00 crossing though.

The vouchers or discount codes tend to only be valid for day trips. We did Poole-Cherbourg-Poole about 5 weeks ago and it was £110 for the D3 and 4 adults. You have a choice of the Barfleur or one of the Condor fastcraft (on charter to Brittany Ferries). The vomit comets are fast, if a little unstable. If time is on your side the Barfleur is a lovely ship.
On our day trip we did 07:00 out on the fastcraft and 19:00 back on the Barfleur. A week later we went on holiday to France via Portsmouth to St Malo on the Bretagne. Again, a great ship and a nice 11 hour overnight crossing. We did the Barfleur on the return.
There is also the option of Poole-St Malo via the Channel Islands with Condor.
