Thanks for that. That is really interesting...

What with the shock of the airbags going off I cant really be 100% Sure what happened re. locks and fuel pump. It was a really frightening and confusing experience. The ear is still suffering!

I did start the car, it did seem to be in some sort of safe mode, though no message on the computer but after a few hundred yards it drove normally without any messages apart from the Red airbag light being displayed. The following day I drove to the dealer with no drama.

Can anyone else read the boxes to establish what happened? I cant believe that LR will not give me the report?

Cant believe the situation 3rd LR I have owned and I have always stuck up for the company with whatever I had heard about them (even when a TDCI 110 left me stranded in the Kalahari!). Now I know what the company is really like!

rdknight - do you have any legal expense cover with your home insurance, union membership, AA membership, bank account or anything else it can come with.

If so, you may be able to use their legal department to persue a claim in respect of a consumer dispute against Landrover.

Worth a try!

The data during the incident should have been retained by some module. Unless LR have wiped it you may be able to get an independent specialist to retrieve the info and this could be used as part of your case.

I think that they are being very negative to your situation....surely if they are inferring that you have somehow activated the roll-over firing strategy then it would be in their interest to show you the evidence of such. Something seems to stink as to why they have shut the door Neutral

Your injured? Remember - Where there's a blame, there is a claim.

Much as it pains me to say because I do not like the 'compensation culture' that exists these days, in your case you have been genuinely (although not seriously) injured, by what you believe to be faulty goods. If you engage a no win no fee lawyer to take up your case, then LR will have to come up with the evidence to defend themselves.

I'm no expert, but it seems to me that LR are calling your bluff. Take them to court, and I'd bet it would never get there.

Moving forward with Gareths suggestion - did I read in one of your posts that you had a passenger who got hit with the air bags?

If so, they could make a claim for their injuries against you as the driver, this in turn would involve your Insurers who would then no doubt take on the investigating of what and why it happened.

May not be an ideal way of dealing with this and you would have to give it much thought as of course it means there is a claim on your policy but your Insurers would probably do their best to seek recovery of their outlay from Landrover. You would need to check with your Insurers that if they won they would remove the "at fault" record and make it a "non fault" claim.

Thanks for the suggestions thus far.

I now have an injury lawyer and lawyer being provided through my home insurance. (both of which are appalled at the situation I have found myself in)

I am in contact with the bbc.

I have asked an independent engineer to investigate the car.

I would however like to have contact details for a Customer Service Manager or higher. The person I am dealing with at LR is refusing to supply this so i cannot escalate this any further if anyone has this information I will use responsibly as I am being very polite with my dealings with LR.

Any other suggestions gratefully received!
