Abnormal tyre wear

Only the near side front tyre worn on outer edge, others seem OK.
The car only done 7k miles, is it a front tracking issue?
Is it a common problem?
Thanks

Sounds more like a case of poor geometry set up at the factory - not a part of the PDI. However, take it back and complain - you should get the full alignment done (all four wheels).

Agreed, a trip to the dealer would be sensible.
Cheers

Hi

Had same problem on my D4 - same tyre - but dealer insisted it would be pothole damage as the tracking was "way out".
So 2 new front tyres (the other one was wearing in centre) and 4 wheel allignment and take it back in a couple of weeks to be re-checked.
However, I have done 13000 so maybe I can't blame PDI Sad

I see that this is an old problem. We have just had our D4 back to the agent with quite severe wear on the outside edge of the near side front tyre after 7000kms. They claim that this in 'normal', the alignment is "perfect" and that the rest of the tyre will stay legal for 35-40000kms. Should we get an independant check?
Is the alignment data posted anywhere - it is not in our handbook (apart from data for China for some reason). That data suggest quite wide tolerances - could that be a problem?

Thanks for that. Pretty wierd with all the wheels pointing in different directions!
Maybe I have missed it, but has anybody actually cured the problem with an alignment?

Does anyone can recommend a good independent in and around Brighton?
