I'm not sure this is true so don't hold me to this, when I was reading an Auto blog about the all new 2012 Range Rover (That'll Be 10 years of L322 model when it finishes production , mind nothing on the old classic 1970-1996) That it will Be 500kg laughter with an All aluminium chassis and body construction and be powered by a 280 hp 3.0 TDV6 and should achieve 35 MPG!
Is this the death of the TDV8? But if it's that much lighter and they van squeeze 280 hp out of a twin turbo diesel V6 (not exactly measily to begin with!!) IS A TDV8 NECCESARY?! 20MPG versus 35MPG (nearly the same BHP) ... I know what I'd be driving

the 3.0 TDV6's are even coastlyer than TDV8's....
to try an other option, what about the things I'd need to put in a 3.0 TDV6?
just planning to know what to do when the last bit of life is squeezed out of my 2?7

A group of us visited the Dagenham Diesel Centre where the LR engines are made and when we asked the plant manager a direct question about why the TDV8 wouldn't fit, the answer came back that there was a 40mm layout issue for the D3\D4 which is different to the RRS engine bay.
I can't see any reason why the guy would tell us porkies ....if it was a straightforward marketing issue then I'm sure we are man enough to take it 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

IF we'd loose the fan in front, and go for electric cooling, I'm sure we can find the inches we need

I'm still looking for more info, I'm sure this can be done, just waiting for the first one who does this successfully! I'll be the first (second) one to do this
