Is it just me or has this thread lost a lot of posts overnight?
Gareth - I don't think he can post a photo of it unless he lives close to a dealer and has Photoshop. The first will give him a D3 to photo, the second to doctor it.
Won't happen though. Too much time spent winding people up on forums to have actually learned how to use the software.

Can you post a photo of the installation?
Here we go...
The timer - (LHD vehicle)
And yes it has to be off center on plate not to damage clips with mounting screws.
An extra wire (blue one obviously) added to FBH
Instant heat does not work on D3 due to the bus electronics that shut off after a little while - but timer does, and instant heat comes with timing the FBH to start 2 minutes later and lock the car (or leave it open if u need to).
Cheers
Jakob

Was this an expensive setup ? If you don't mind me asking.
I suppose disco's is even better though as he can use just his LR key - apparently

HI
700 GBP
Still only 2/3 of a new webasto FBH excl. installation here in Denmark. (VAT 25%here)
Good thing is i maintain 3 year warranty on fbh as it was spec'd on contract as on option - not a post-mount acessory.
No i does not work with the key - if i want instant heat i have to set the timer to 2 min from now and it will go off 2 minutes later. The instant heat button on the timer does not work as this is interrupted by the bus electronics shutting down.
Off course i can also time it to 20-30 minutes before departure in the morning so i come down to a nice warm engine and cabin.
I have an inquy with webasto at the moment as they are trying to figure out how to make webasto remote work on bus electronics as post mount kit.
I cant wait until it is 10 below and neighbours are down in the morning with scrapers, de-ice etc. and mine will be ice/snow/mist free and ready to drive off
Speaking of 10 below....
Slightly off topic - how are the pirelly scorpions as year round tires, i fear how they will perform in frost and snow/slush.
Cheers
Jakob
PS my opinion - FBH timer expensive, but i will never regret it - worth all the money.

FBH-control
Hi Jakob
Your installation looks nice!
I've been waiting for this option since I got the car (All most a year now!!) and finally its here. The FBH-control is to bee installed this Friday!!!
Regarding Pirelli Scorpion as an all-year tyre. I've used my 19-inch Pirelli last winter and it worked OK. My car has done 22.000km now and the tyres have worn app. half down. So for this winter I've bought a set of 18-inch. rims with Pirelli winter tyres to make sure my Disco stays on track.
My dealer told me it comes on at 8 degrees or below ?? Something else they got wrong ?? Pot Noodle Challenge Winner 2011
I refuse to have a battle of wits with an unarmed person
ISTR it comes on below 4°C, it was 6°C here this morning and it didn't come on
Back in the days when we could con the non-working timer into working with the 'radio trick' it would operate below 8°CThe End

It used to operate below 8 degrees, seems that the threshold has now been dropped to 5 degrees...

Supplementary heating is requested by the ATCM while the engine is running if the ambient temperature is less than 5 °C (41 °F) and the engine coolant temperature is less than 75 °C (167 °F).
The ATCM cancels supplementary heating if the ambient temperature increases to 5 °C (41 °F), the engine coolant temperature increases to 75 °C (167 °F), or the engine stops.
The FBH will also not start if the low fuel warning light is on, regardless of the temperature
