whining noise possible wheel bearing ?

My D4 has developed a whining noise , its sounds like a diff or gearbox noise as the engine slows the car however , I have noticed when I turn the wheel into the right or away from the kerb , the noise stops leading me to believe it could be a wheel bearing , is that feasible ?
