Now that we have finally had some decent sunshine, I find that my air con is not that cool.
I'm not geting any fault messages (via FaultMate or FCR) like I had last year when it was obvious that all the gas had leaked through the corroded pipes so I presume that it still has some, but possibly not as much as required.
Is there any way of determining with the FaultMate, how much gas is in the system and does anyone know how much there should be ??

Hello mate, there is no way of telling how much gas/pressure is in the system through OBD,
The best way is buy putting a set of gauges or an air con machine straight on to the system to see what the pressure is at and then drain the system to see how much gas is recovered, some places with aircon equipment will have nitrogen to pressure the system to see if there is a leak, then with the mechine back on vac the system and re-gas of the top of my head I think it's about 550 grams (without aircon in the rear) it should say on a sticker under the bonnet on the slam pannel.
Hope this helps.
Cheers -J-

Cheers for that - was just hoping that there may have been a way that would remove the need to go to the garage.

Don't go to the garage , contact your local aircon engineer, much cheaper, as most garages use an independent , friend of mine does most of mercs dealerships in this area.

Just downloded and installed the new VE 1.30 + modules. Guess what, can now see live data and it shows me the AC pressure
At idle reads circa 650 Kpa ( ~90 psi), rising to circa 1200 Kpa ( - 175 psi) when compressor is running. Mind you , I don't know eher the pressure sensor is but I presume for the figures that it is on the 'high' circuit. I guess I can regard the pipes as compressor as good so will go for a gas top up and see if we can move from 'slightly cool' to 'bl**dy freezing'
