Why go to the expense of suing car firms?
This is more to do with the Californian government needing to be seen to be 'doing something' during the mid-term elections rather than actually solving the problem.
If California is really serious about pollution and wants to hit the car manufacturers hard, it has a much simpler solution. One that will work and won't put all of the money into the hands of lawyers: Ban or oppressively tax cars that emit more than a certain amount of CO2. But they won't, so they will hide behind a law suit for a few years, whilst a law firm or two rakes it in.
Just hope Loony Ken, Tory Plan B and Golden Gordon aren't taking any notice...No longer a D3 owner but still subscribed to multiple threads!
