Engine fault....decrease in power?

Hi all,

Driving home last night on a dual carriageway car suddenly looses power and "engine fault code" appears in the info window. I stopped and turned the car off for a couple of mins then back on and all was fine. Car wasn't hot or showing any signs of a problem. It's just been serviced and new brakes gone on.

I will obviously take it to my local garage and get the diagnostics on it, just wondered if anyone on here has any thoughts about probably reasons for this? I have to drive to London area this morning in it, no option unfortunately.......so fingers and everything else and suitably crossed Laughing Laughing

If it's just been serviced, it could be that they haven't fitted the fuel filter properly, it has casued this problem in the past...

Well made it to London and back with the fault only occuring once. Got home this afternoon and took the car to my local specialist. Before plugging it in to the diagnostics he thought it may be the first signs of a failing turbo.......hurrah I thought, that would be a nice £1200 bill Sad

Anyway plugged the car in and the recorded faults indicated low boost, boost fail code and EGR faults, classic failing turbo faults. Tried to check the actuator position through the wheel arch but the heat shield prevented it from being visible. Opened the bonnet and revved the car, and much to my releif saw a break in one of the air pipes, pipe connecting to the manifold. Obviously loosing pressre during high boost and confusing the readings from the air flow sensors.

New hose ordered and will fit tomorrow...... Thumbs Up

Very Happy Result
